Hi, my name is

Michał.

I am a physicist

I’m looking into fundamental physics problems in condensed matter. I’m an experimental physicist who uses neutron and synchrotron radiation as probes of magnetic, electronic and lattice degrees of freedom in crystals.

Experience

Post-doctoral researcher - Forschungszentrum Jülich
I am looking into materials that show dynamic magnetoelastic coupling such as between crystal-field excitations or phonons and magnons.
Post-doctoral researcher - Technische Universität München
I have started my adventure with neutron scattering by investigating materials that establish magnetoelastic coupling, specifically coupling between crystal-electric field and phonons. This sort of interaction was discovered some time ago but eludes a systematic description.
I was investigating carbonates and their elastic properties at high-pressure. The project aimed at understanding the deep carbon cycle, and carbonates are the main mean of transporting carbon to Earth’s interior.
